The Venus flytrap (Dionaea muscipula) is a carnivorous plant native to the bogs and swamplands of North and South Carolina. It preys on insects with its uniquely shaped terminal portion of its leaves.

This carnivorous plant caught my interest by its trapping mechanism. To me, the plant's clamp has a pretty strong, free and feminist beauty. As opposed to the edgy, thorny lobes, the flower parts of the plant are soft and elegant. The image of this carnivorous plant reminds me of a modern woman figure who is feminine, gentle and also independent, fierce and strong, hence the name Venus Flytrap.
